To promote greater awareness and understanding of forests, wildlife and biodiversity, IYARKAYAI NESI PUBLIC CHARITABLE TRUST organised a seminar titled “Forest and Wildlife: Awareness and Understanding” on 12 October 2025 at the Attakatti Wildlife Management Training Centre.
As part of the programme, the Topslip Tribal Dance Group from the Ulaldy Forest Range, Anamalai Tiger Reserve, presented a traditional tribal dance, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the indigenous community.
Members of the Trust who participated in the programme joined the performers in the traditional dance as a gesture of appreciation, encouragement and solidarity. The cultural presentation created a warm and joyful atmosphere, bringing participants together in celebration of the community’s cultural traditions.
The programme highlighted the vital importance of forest conservation, wildlife protection, biodiversity conservation and the valuable role of indigenous communities in protecting and preserving nature.
The event also served as a meaningful platform to strengthen appreciation for the traditional knowledge, cultural heritage and close relationship that indigenous communities share with the forest ecosystem.
