On 13 March 2026, representatives of IYARKAYAI NESI PUBLIC CHARITABLE TRUST paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Pawan Kumar G. Giriyappanavar, I.A.S., District Collector, Coimbatore.
As part of the Trust’s summer conservation campaign, “Let’s Keep Water for Birds,” a bird water bowl prepared by the Trust’s volunteers was presented to the District Collector. The programme was held in the presence of Mr. Venkatesh Prabhu, I.F.S., District Forest Officer, Coimbatore Forest Division, Anamalai Tiger Reserve.
The initiative aims to encourage the placement of bird water bowls at suitable locations across urban and residential areas, providing birds with access to safe drinking water during the hot summer months.
As part of the campaign, the Trust also appeals to the public to place small bowls of clean drinking water outside homes, offices, shops and in suitable neighbourhood spaces. Such simple community actions can help reduce dehydration among birds and support urban biodiversity during the summer.
Through this initiative, IYARKAYAI NESI PUBLIC CHARITABLE TRUST seeks to promote public participation in bird conservation, urban wildlife protection and environmental responsibility, while encouraging a compassionate approach towards birds and other living beings.
