Tree Relocation and Conservation Initiative

02 November 2025 | Pollachi

As part of its ongoing commitment to tree conservation and environmental protection, IYARKAYAI NESI PUBLIC CHARITABLE TRUST successfully relocated a five-year-old Bilva (Bael) tree on 02 November 2025, saving it from being cut down due to construction activities.

The tree had been growing on a vacant site at Vadugapalayam, Pollachi. Upon learning that the tree was at risk of removal, the Trust approached the landowner and requested an opportunity to save and relocate it. With the consent and cooperation of the landowner, the Trust undertook the relocation initiative.

The tree was carefully uprooted using appropriate methods and replanted at the Sivan Temple, Sellappampalayam Junction, on the Pollachi–Udumalpet Road, providing it with a suitable location to continue its growth.

Members of IYARKAYAI NESI PUBLIC CHARITABLE TRUST will continue to monitor, maintain and care for the relocated tree until it becomes well established.

This initiative reflects the Trust’s commitment to protecting existing trees, promoting tree relocation wherever feasible, and conserving green cover for future generations.
