Green Temple Initiative
19 November 2025 | Sivan Temple, Sellappampalayam
As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental conservation and the promotion of green spaces, IYARKAYAI NESI PUBLIC CHARITABLE TRUST carried out a Green and Environmental Conservation Initiative at the Sivan Temple located at Sellappampalayam Junction on the Pollachi–Udumalpet Road on 19 November 2025.
At the request of the temple authorities, the Trust planted 30 flowering plants and 25 fruit tree saplings within the temple premises. The Bilva (Bael) tree previously relocated by the Trust is also being carefully maintained and nurtured within the temple campus.
The Trust appreciated the temple authorities for their efforts to provide food and water for peacocks and various bird species, thereby creating a supportive and welcoming environment for local wildlife.
With regular watering and proper care, the newly planted saplings are expected to grow and flourish, gradually transforming the temple premises into a beautiful, green and biodiversity-friendly space.
The initiative reflects the Trust’s commitment to tree conservation, biodiversity protection and the creation of greener community spaces, while encouraging public participation in environmental conservation.
